 Futures North 2012 - Workshop applications now open

We are pleased to announce that workshop applications are now open and we are keen to hear from you if you wish to run a workshop on any of our themes 'Community, Trading, Capital and Investment' you can download a form here and the deadline for submissions is the 23rd of September.

We are delighted to confirm 2 new keynote speakers Will Straw who is Associate Director for Strategic Development of the Institute of Public Policy Research and will be speaking on Globalisation and Economic Growth and Professor Adrian Hopgood Pro Vice Chancellor, Sheffield Business School will be welcoming delegates to the conference and speaking on Sheffield Business School’s contribution to the Co-operative Movement. Co-operatives Yorkshire and the Humber Enhanced Benefits Package
The is our new paid package delivering benefits to co-operatives and is delivered jointly with Social Enterprise Yorkshire and the Humber. The package currently includes benefits such as 1 free place at Futures North 2012, membership of a business club for social enterprises and co-operatives and inclusion on a marketplace e-directory. The package starts at just £25 for small co-operatives and full details can be downloaded here.

Food, Community and Co-operation Event

Co-operatives Yorkshire and the Humber working with Sustain and Co-operative Group are holding an event on Monday 17th October at St Georges Centre, Leeds. the event will have a number of workshops and networking around food growing and retailing. If you want a stall or to register a place please email lizzie@sustainweb.org. This is a free event.

Leeds United FC Supporters Trust

Leeds United Supporters Trust is delighted to be able to offer all Leeds fans (aged 16 or over), FREE membership of the Trust for the duration of the new season. Ed Miliband MP, Leader of the Opposition and a Leeds Fan has recently joined the LUFC Supporters Trust.
