Better Business: The Plunkett Foundation’s Annual Rural Social Enterprise Conference

Government launch Mutuals Information Service

On 17th November the Cabinet Office launched the Mutuals Information Service. Co-operatives UK, working in partnership with the Employee Ownership Association and others, will provide a service for staff in the public sector looking to set up mutuals. More information can be found here.

Public Services (Social Enterprise and Social Value) Bill set to receive Govt backing

A bill tabled by Chris White MP, promoting social enterprise and social value, is set to receive Government backing when it has its second reading in the House of Commons tomorrow. For more information on the Bill visit here.

Civil Society Consultation

The Government have launched a consultation on 'Building a Stronger Civil Society'. Co-operatives UK are consulting with co-operatives over a draft response. For more information- including the original documents and consultation, click here.

The Key Fund reaches further

Key Fund, formerly, Key Fund Yorkshire, are expanding the scope of their operations to now cover the whole of the North and North Midlands. Key Fund have recently helped with several community share issues in this region. More information is available here.
