Become a member of Co-operatives Yorkshire and the Humber (Ltd.)

Following a decision at our AGM, it is now possible to become a member of Co-operatives Yorkshire and the Humber. You should hopefully have received a membership form in the post, but if not, you can download it here. (If you didn't receive the paper copy, you may want to check your details are correct on this site.)

Sector Survey

SEYH are trying to build up a better picture of the state of the social enterprise sector in the region. So, if you're a social enterprise, why not fill out the survey, it should only take a few minutes?

Co-operatives Fortnight approaches...

On 19th June we begin the first ever co-operatives fortnight, lasting until 3rd July. We have several events taking place in the region- highlighted on www.thereisanalternative.coop- some of which are included in this newsletter. 

Investment Fair and Networking Event

Taking place on 17th June in Bradford, the Investment Fair provides an opportunity to learn more about new opportunities for your organisation. The afternoon session also has a networking event and a table-discussion on co-operatives. Download the flyer for more information.

The Fair Traders Co-operative

The Fair Traders Co-operative  are having a launch event on 17th June, details are available here. Also, you're still able to invest in the co-operative. More more information visit their website.

Create and Innovate Event

Our fellow co-operators in the North West and North East are holding an event in Stanhope that may be of interest to you. It showcases co-operatives from around the regions, has a range of stall, and provides chance to network (co-operation amongst co-operatives!). More information can be found here.

Launch of the regional Co-operative Enterprise Hub

This is taking place on 1st July from 09.30 - 12.30. The event will provide more information about the support available from the Enterprise Hub, round table discussion on a variety of topics, and networking opportunities. It is taking place at Bar Convent in York. More information to follow: here.

Co-operative and Social Enterprise Summer School

The aim of this short course is to provide an executive overview of the social and economic contribution of cooperative and social enterprises. The course provides you with an opportunity to develop your knowledge about the rationale, purposes and practices of cooperative and social enterprises, so you can contribute to informed discussions with • policy makers • financial institutions • business support advisers • charity trustees • company directors • work colleagues.
