Hungry for Activism – a conference to inform, educate and inspire action on food politics.    Leeds, 20th February (Kindly funded by Leeds & Wakefield Co-operative Group Area Committee)

Fairtrade Fortnight
A regular in the calendar, Fairtrade Fortnight 2010 takes place from 22nd February to 7th March. This year the Fairtrade Foundation are asking people to join them in The Big Swap. For two weeks, they’ll be asking you to swap your usual stuff for Fairtrade stuff.

Co-operative Fortnight
This year plays host to the first ever Co-operative Fortnight. Running from 19th June to 3rd July the fortnight provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the co-operative movement and co-operatives within this region.

InterAct 2010 ¬– being and belonging – 9th-10th July, Barnsley
CLADA is designing and delivering this year’s annual Co-operative Learning Conference at Northern College, Barnsley. The conference will explore Community and Citizenship from co-operative prospective. For more information click here. 

Yes we can! Create green homes and neighbourhoods
Building on the success of the ‘Eat sustainably’ workshops run by Leeds Permaculture Network, in partnership with the Co-operative Northern Membership team in 2009, the Cooperative Group membership team is now working with the National Permaculture Association to offer day long sessions. Details of the event, starting in this region in July, can be found here.
